Who doesn’t love summer? I mean, really, lots of things get better come summer. We clean out the garage and make room for more tanks and supplies; we can move some fish outdoors to grow out; working on those extra projects gets done now that it stays light longer; and spending time in your basement fishroom just might be the coolest place in the whole house. The JSAS Board has been working to make the rest of 2010 a lot of fun for our members. We’ll be hosting Mo Devlin—a hobby favorite—for our September meeting. Make sure you come out to hear about cichlids in a way so few of us ever experience. In October, we’ll be holding an annual favorite: the JSAS Annual Bowl Show. Now’s the time to begin conditioning your favorite fish for showing in October. In addition, our own Bill Loesch and Zoo Med Laboratories will be holding the new product showcase. You’ll want to be here for this… rumor has it we’ll be giving away some great new merchandise. Our Annual Holiday Party and MAP Auction returns in December. This evening is always lots of fun for all who attend—great food, fellowship, fun auction items and a little fish talk too. Lastly, my 2nd term as the JSAS president is now winding down. Our Society will need a capable leader to take us into 2011 and beyond. Do you think you have some good ideas? Maybe you know someone who’d make a good next leader. Let us know as we prepare for the 2011 officers election this fall. Now go feed your fish… - Matt |
